Experienced caregiver in Lisbon

I am writing to express my strong interest in the In-Home Caregiver position. As a licensed caregiver with five years of hands-on experience and two years in dementia elderly care and three years in the neurology department of a hospital in the Netherlands. I have developed both the clinical skills and the personal compassion needed to provide safe, dignified, and attentive care in a home setting. During my two years in elderly care, I supported clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility assistance, medication reminders, and meal preparation, while building genuine, trusting relationships with each person I cared for. I learned to recognize small changes in mood or condition early and to adapt my approach to each individual's needs, pace, and preferences, a skill I consider essential to good in-home care. My three years in the neurology department gave me a deeper clinical foundation. I worked closely with patients facing conditions such as stroke, Parkinson's disease, dementia, and other neurological disorders, assisting with rehabilitation routines, monitoring symptoms, and communicating closely with nurses and doctors about changes in patient status. This experience taught me patience, careful observation, and the ability to stay calm and reassuring in situations that can be frightening or disorienting for patients and their families. I am drawn to in-home caregiving because it allows me to bring this same level of professional, attentive care directly into a person's own environment, where comfort, independence, and dignity matter most. I take pride in being reliable, respectful, and observant, and I understand the responsibility that comes with being trusted in someone's home and daily life.
