  To Whom It May Concern: I am writing this letter to recommend Dulce Gomes Monteiro as a babysitter and an au pair. She worked and lived at my home in Marseille, Francen as an au pair for a little under six month, from January to June 2019. Prior to this experience, Dulce had experience babysitting with an austistic four year old boy, her little sister and other family friends children. While Her prior experience in child care made her integration into the family an easy one, it is mainly Dulce’s willingness to do well and natural ability to take care of small children that made her particularly skillful for the job. It is important to note that she is truly gifted with small children who are immediately drawn to her, possibly given the ease with which she interacts with them. We witnessed this ability of hers to interact with children and have them immediately feel at ease with other children during her stay, but also, on other occasions, when she was in contact with older children as well, typically cousins from the age of 3 to 10 years old. While in Marseille, she also babysat for another family in the evenings from time-to-time for a little girl who was 3. I believe that she is competent and experienced enough to fit in any child care capacity. During the duration of her stay at my home, I had the satisfaction of seeing her grow from someone who was struggling her first years if university, who had never lived on her own, to a more mature and focused young lady, eager to pursue and succeed in studies that fit her best all the while managing a part time job and independent living. Dulce took care of my twin babies, who were 12 months at the beginning of her stay. Monday through Thursday, she would pick them up at daycare by using public transportation and a decent size walk, then feed, bathe and prepare them for bed. On Fridays and Saturday mornings, she would take care of them at her house, thus completing the later tasks but also, bringing them to the park, singing songs with them, having dance parties, and whatever activities she seemed fit provided their very young age. In other words, she competently prepared formulas, made nutritious meals, and took them on outings and social gatherings. I have had the highest confidence in her trustworthiness, judgement and maturity, and always felt relaxed after leaving my kids in her supervision. It is important to mention that our house is bilingual, and Dulce acquired some basis in French but also spoke a very decent level of English. In fact, she was more than a babysitter as she proved herself a member of our family. I wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.
